Patios & paving · Newport · South Wales · Bristol
Patios you'll actually want to sit on.
A patio is only as good as the base beneath it. We lay Indian sandstone, porcelain and natural stone patios across Newport, South Wales and Bristol, on properly prepared foundations that won't sink, crack or pool with water.
Built from the ground up
Most patio problems come from a rushed base. We excavate to the right depth, lay and compact a proper sub-base, and bed every slab on a full mortar bed with the correct falls so rainwater runs away cleanly. Joints are pointed neatly and left to last.
From a cosy seating area to a full garden's worth of paving, we'll help you pick a stone and layout that suits the space and the light, and finish it to a standard you'll be proud to show off.

A tired yard, transformed
The clearest way to show what we do is before and after. One job, start to finish.
A dug-out yard transformed into a smart Indian sandstone patio, edged and finished ready for the table and chairs.
A bare, weed-strewn corner cleared and dug out, then finished with a tidy riven sandstone patio against the fence.
Ground cleared and dug out beside the shed, then laid with smart grey porcelain paving and a neat gravel border.

Patio questions, answered
Sandstone or porcelain — which is better?
Indian sandstone is natural, warm and great value; porcelain is ultra-low-maintenance, stain-resistant and dead flat. We'll help you weigh up the look against the upkeep for your garden.
Why do some patios sink or pool with water?
Almost always a rushed sub-base or the wrong falls. We dig down properly, lay and compact a real sub-base and set the correct falls so rainwater runs off instead of sitting in puddles.
How long does a patio take to lay?
A typical domestic patio takes a few days, depending on size, access and how much groundwork is needed. We'll give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.
Can you add steps and edging too?
Yes. We build in steps, edging and the details that tie the patio into your lawn, paths and borders, so it feels like part of the garden rather than a slab dropped in.
