About Sonset Projects Ltd
Sonset Projects Ltd is a Newport-based outdoor projects company specialising in fencing, gates, decking and patios, and taking on full garden transformations across Newport and South Wales. When you contact Sonset Projects, you deal directly with Harley, who assesses the work and remains your main point of contact throughout. Depending on the project’s scope and timeframe, work may be completed personally by Harley, with support, or by suitable professionals coordinated and overseen by Sonset Projects.
Harley founded Sonset Projects Ltd to do fencing and garden work the way he would want it done at his own house — properly, honestly, and without the hassle so many people have come to expect from trades.
Fencing and gates are our strongest suit: featheredge and closeboard timber, panel fencing, composite, DuraPost and metal manufactured from Colorbond® steel, with matching gates hung to swing true. We also build the decking, patios and paving that finish a garden off, so one company can take on the whole project rather than leaving you to chase three different trades.
Most of our work comes from word of mouth and repeat customers across Newport, Cardiff, Monmouthshire and the wider South Wales area, which is exactly how we like it. Get in touch and you will get a straight answer and a fair price — and if we are not the right fit for the job, we will tell you that too.
Harley Lawson
Director, Sonset Projects Ltd
Fencing, gates, decking, patios and garden projects are at the heart of Sonset Projects, but we can also consider a wide range of suitable indoor and outdoor work by arrangement.
Harley assesses each project, plans what is required and remains the customer’s main point of contact. Depending on the project’s scope, timeframe and specialist requirements, the work may be completed personally by Harley, with additional team members, or by trusted and appropriately experienced tradespeople appointed and managed by Sonset Projects.
For projects involving several different elements, Sonset Projects can coordinate the people, materials and programme required. The customer receives one agreed quotation and invoice, with Harley overseeing the project and keeping them updated through to completion.
We don’t pretend that one person is qualified in every trade. Where specialist or regulated work is needed, an appropriately qualified professional is used. This allows each element to be completed properly while giving the customer one accountable point of contact.
No jargon, no pressure, no disappearing halfway through a job. Just a few simple things we stick to.
If we have booked a day, we will be there. If something changes, you will hear from us — not silence.
You receive a clear written quotation. If the agreed scope changes or unforeseen work is discovered, any price change is explained and agreed before additional work goes ahead.
Concreted posts, level lines and a tidy site at the end. We would rather do it once and do it right.
£6 million public liability cover, with a 12-month workmanship guarantee on work covered by the written quotation and terms.
Where removal is included in the quotation, agreed waste and surplus materials are removed by Sonset Projects or an appropriately licensed waste carrier, and the working area is left tidy.
Fencing, gates, decking and patios under one roof, so a bigger garden job stays with one point of contact start to finish.
Sonset Projects provides one point of contact from quotation through to completion. Depending on the project’s scope and timeframe, work may be carried out personally by Harley, with trusted assistance, or by suitable trade professionals coordinated and overseen by Sonset Projects.
Sonset Projects quotes and invoices for the complete agreed project. Suitable indoor and outdoor projects are considered by arrangement.
A few words from recent customers. Plenty more on our reviews page.
Harley has been brilliant throughout. Excellent workmanship, highly professional and completed in a timely manner. These days it is so difficult to find quality workers you can trust, but with Harley I have no concerns whatsoever. Do not hesitate.
I could not recommend Harley enough! I have had a retaining wall, some fencing, and a gate installed and the process was professional from start to finish. It was a difficult job in some tight spaces but it was not an issue at all. Highly recommended.
Harley, thank you for doing such a great job on the fencing. It is perfect and looks amazing, so many positive comments from neighbours and friends. I am recommending you to anyone who asks. Amazing job.
