What we get called out for

A fence usually fails at the posts long before the panels give up. Timber rots at ground level, a gale finds the weak one, and the run starts to lean. Replacing the failed posts and re-fixing the panels is often all it takes, and it costs a fraction of a new boundary.

We take on small repairs as happily as large ones. Send a photo of the damage and your postcode and we will tell you straight whether it is a repair, a replacement section, or a run that has reached the end of its life.

  • Broken and rotten fence posts replaced
  • Damaged and blown-out fence panels
  • Leaning fences straightened and re-set
  • Storm-damaged fencing made safe and repaired
  • Loose fencing, rails and gravel boards re-fixed
  • Replacement fence sections matched to what is there
  • Gate repairs, dropped gates and hardware

Repair or replace?

We will give you both prices and an honest steer, rather than talking you into the bigger job.

Worth repairing

When the bones are still good

A handful of failed posts, a few blown panels or a section knocked out by a storm. If most of the run is sound, repairing the failures is quick, far cheaper and gets you years more out of the fence.

Typical: one to three posts, a few panels, or a single damaged section.

Worth replacing

When you are chasing failures

If posts are going one after another and you are patching the same fence every winter, repairs stop being value. A new run on properly concreted posts, or a DuraPost system, ends the cycle.

We will say so plainly rather than selling you repeat repairs.

Repair questions, answered

My fence is leaning after a storm. Can it be saved?

Usually yes. A lean is nearly always the posts rather than the panels, and posts can be replaced without starting the whole run again. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or whether the run is far enough gone that replacing it is the better spend.

Can you replace just a few panels?

Yes. Small repairs are welcome and we do plenty of them. We will match the existing panels as closely as we can, though bear in mind new timber will look newer than weathered timber for the first season or two.

How quickly can you come out after storm damage?

Storm damage gets treated as a priority because a broken fence is a security and pet problem, not just a tidiness one. Send photos and your postcode and we will tell you honestly how soon we can get to it.

Can you fix a gate that has dropped or will not close?

Yes. Dropped gates are usually a hinge or a post that has moved rather than the gate itself. We re-hang gates, replace hinges and hardware, and re-set or replace gate posts so it swings and latches properly again.

Is it cheaper to repair or replace a fence?

It depends how much of the run is failing. A few posts and panels is almost always worth repairing. Once most of the posts have gone, repairs stop being economical and a new fence works out better value over its life. We will give you both prices and let you decide.
